Hello,
I am Rosey Howarth

I am a Registered Child, Family & Play Therapist.

I am passionate about supporting children, young people and families to navigate through different stages of life, working through the underlying need behind behaviours and to work though trauma in a safe space to help them thrive.

I use humanistic, strength-based, trauma informed, and neurodiversity affirming approaches. I am trained in a variety of individual and dyadic modalities so I am able to utilise a range of therapeutic techniques from movement, mindfullness, creative, talk and play therapy to best suit the unique needs of each person I work with.

My goal has always been to support children and teens early on in life to set them up with the tools and resources to grow into healthy and happy adults. It is so important to me that each individual child and young person understands that we are all unique, being different is great and to be authentically you in this life is key.

To best support our children our greatest tool is our relationship and authentic connection.  A big part of my work is to support children, teens and their parents and/or primary caregivers to work through attachment, family dynamics, issues, and how to best support each others needs to gain a better understanding of one another, build stronger connection and recreate a secure attachment.

My aim is to hold space for kids, teens and families to feel seen, heard, and empowered to express themselves and explore their challenges, issues and concerns in a safe and caring environment to grow, transform and heal.

My Story

First of all I am a mumma, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend.

I have always had a love for working with children and young people. I have found through my different roles over the years, forming therapeutic relationships through playfulness and connection the real magic happens. Being able to hold space, be authentic and caring so each individual feels a sense of security, build trust and feels seen. I feel blessed to be able to bring this to the many children, young people, and families I support now and into the future.

I have over fifteen years experience working with children and families in early childhood education, family support, youth work, child protection counselling and play therapy.

I am a dedicated life long learner, forever continuing to grow my skill set! I hold a Master of Child & Play Therapy, Bachelor of Psychological Science, a Diploma of Counselling, a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and specialised training in Autplay® Therapy, LEGO® Based Therapy, Interplay® Therapy, Synergetic Play Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy, Sensitive infant sleep support, Mindfullness for Children.
